Overview

The 3 Days Queen Elizabeth Safari takes to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular savanna grassland destinations. Your 3 day tour is a short safari that takes you through the Kazinga channel, explore the Kyambura gorge that is popular for chimpanzee adventures, view the unique tree-climbing lions at Ishasha sector, explore Lake Edward and George and look out most of the wildlife species like elephants, monkeys, lions, warthogs, leopards, hyenas, crocodiles, pay a visit to bat caves hippos and over 620 species of birds, beautiful butterflies and the catch a glimpse at the magnificent Rwenzori Mountain ranges.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Following breakfast early in the morning, you will be picked by our experienced driver guide at 6:30 am who will take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park in a four-wheel drive car. The drive takes you via the spectacular countryside to western Uganda, have a stopover at the Equator photo taking with one of your leg in the southern hemisphere while the other will be in the northern hemisphere. Interestingly, you will even conduct water experiments to determine the geographical divide between the 2 (two) hemispheres.

You can also pay a visit to a nearby craft centre at the site and buy some souvenirs for your own memories. After, proceed and have another stopover at Igongo cultural centre about 12 kilometres to Mbarara town where you will have lunch. At Igongo never miss having a taste of African dish at a popular Kahwa Kanuzire restaurant.

After, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge of choice for dinner, relaxation and night stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (upmarket), Kyambura Game Lodge (luxury), Mweya Hostel/ Queen Elizabeth Safari Camp (Budget) or Simba Safari Camp/Ihamba Safari Lodge (mid-range).
Day 2 - Go for morning game drive and an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel
Have breakfast in the morning and then set off for your early morning game drive at around 7:00 am along with Kasenyi sector.

On game drive, you will look out wildlife species such as bushbucks, lions, spotted hyenas, Uganda Kobs, elephants, buffaloes, leopards as well as bird species like African white-backed vulture, palm nut vulture, hooded vulture, brown snake eagle, lappet-faced vulture, Rupell’s griffon vulture, martial eagle, grey kestrel, long created eagle, African crake, black-bellied bustard, Temminck’s courser, crowned plover, African wattled plover, Senegal plover and many more.

After, return to the lodge for lunch and then head for yet another exciting boat cruise along the Kazinga channel at 2:00 pm. On boat cruise, you get a chance to spot out the Nile crocodiles, hippos and bird species such as the yellow-billed stork, kingfishers, African skimmers and others. On return, you will sight at some of the wildlife species and then have dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (upmarket), Kyambura Game Lodge (luxury), Mweya Hostel/ Queen Elizabeth Safari Camp (Budget) or Simba Safari Camp/Ihamba Safari Lodge (mid-range).
Day 3 - Drive Back to Kampala
Following breakfast in the morning, you will embark on quick morning game drive to spot out the rare tree climbing lions and other wildlife that you missed to see in the previous day. Thereafter, return journey to Kampala and you will have lunch in Mbarara and a stopover at the Equator where you will purchase souvenirs in the nearby craft shop. After, you drive back to Kampala.
